A Hoboken man was robbed while walking home earlier this morning on Jefferson Street, police said.
At 12:29 a.m. the 24-year-old victim was walking home on the 600 block of Jefferson Street, between Sixth and Seventh streets, when he was approached by two men, said Sgt. Sam Williams.
One of the men produced a silver revolver as the pair attempted to rob the Hobokenite, Williams said.
They robbed the man's cell phone, but they were unable to remove his wallet from his pants pocket and fled north on Jefferson Street, Williams said.
The victim originally thought the men also took his house keys, but realized later that he left them at a friend's house, Williams said.
Both men were around 6 feet or 6-2, Williams said, adding that one had an orange du-rag, a light blue or gray shirt, had some facial hair and had dreadlocks down to the bottom of his neck.
The other was wearing a light-colored shirt, blue jeans, had short hair and was clean-shaven, Williams said.
